I saw a post today online about a site where you can upload your poetry and get it seen by publishers. If they like it, they may publish it in one of their books and you get a chance to write an "about you" section to get publicity. That site is:

You can also write your own "ebooks" online and submit them to many online publishers, where it is much easier to get your work accepted than traditional houses.
Blue Mountain Arts greeting cards is also looking for new writers, as most companies are. Do a search for greeting card publishers if you're into that kind of thing.
